Colorful canopy
It'd be fun to see a neighborhood in the Capital Region -- Lark Street maybe? -- try a public art project like this: This summer in Montreal a one-kilometer stretch of Sainte-Catherine Street East was transformed with a rainbow-colored canopy. It was to celebrate both a pride festival and other municipal anniversaries. Just gawking at some of the photos, it's remarkable how it looks like the installation contributed to a feel and sense of place. [Azure] [The Main] [designboom]

Can you send this to the Lark Street BID? As soon as I saw images of the canopy in Montreal, I had the same exact thought. It would be great to see something like this tied in with larkfest or art on lark. The canopy makes it feel like a more walkable area and a place where you want to be for a while.
