We built this city on... some sort of music
Can a city actively help grow its music scene? Or, at least, not hold back? That's the question at the center of a City Lab article this week that looks at how multiple cities, big and small, have tried to help or not hurt their music scenes. A question that occurred to as running underneath the whole discussion: Can communities proactively build scenes -- in all sorts of industries and arts -- or are they something more emergent (and lucky).
