Movie ticket price? It depends
Regal Entertainment Group -- which runs movie theaters at Crossgates, Colonie Center, and other locations in this area -- said this week that it will be testing dynamic pricing of tickets in multiple markets next year. What's that? Well, tickets for less-popular movies or non-peak time screenings could cheaper. (Or, depending on your perspective, high-demand movies and screenings could be more expensive.) We don't go to any of the corporate owned movie theaters anymore, as prices have become offensively high. What used to be an affordable family outing now costs upwards of $100. These companies should be ashamed of themselves. Fortunately, places like the Spectrum still remain affordable if there is a movie we really want to see then we can go there. But IMO these companies are nuts charging what they do nowadays. The same goes for why we dropped cable and simply stream now - Spectrum is just too expensive.

Just more proof that Theater chains are completely out of touch with movie-goers. Let's charge more for the movies everyone wants to see, when most people go to see movies!

I only take my Grandson on Special Occasions and never go otherwise. It is far too expensive especially if I buy him a popcorn snack which is about the same price as one ticket. It can cost almost $30 for one visit. I think it is outrageous. My sons waits until they are at Red Box and rents one for his children. Plus Aviation Mall now has special seats that you choose before you go in which is very hard on someone who has problems with their vision. The sound is extremely loud and I am not comfortable with the new set up at all. If it were not for treating my Grandson to a movie I would never go there at all. Their Greed is ruining what used to be a nice treat for my Family.
