Weezer + Pixies at Lakeview Amphitheater

Weezer 2017

Weezer.

Farther afield, but maybe worth the drive if you're a fan: A joint summer tour by Weezer and (the) Pixies is set to make a stop at the Lakeview Amphitheater in Syracuse July 15. Tickets go on sale November 10 -- they're $20 and up. (It looks like there are also a Weezer fan presale starting November 6.)

Rivers Cuomo and Weezer continue to turn out pop rock albums -- the latest Pacific Daydream, dropped last week.

And The Pixies are one of the most influential rock bands of all time. (Though, you know, without Kim Deal is it really the same?)

The opener for the show is The Wombats.

The Lakeview Amphitheater is on the shore of Onondaga Lake near the State Fair grounds in Syracuse (well, that might technically be Geddes). It's 2.5 hours by car from Albany.

The Scoop

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
