Yes, of course, Vancouver is much different from Albany, but this conversation between David Roberts and former Vancouver planning director Brent Toderian about the fights over adding development density to cities touches on a bunch of different topics that have been popping up in Albany lately: building design, traffic, resistance to change. "One of the best ways to improve the conversation about development is to make sure there's better development. If you don't like NIMBYs, don't make them right." [Vox]

Important discussion, easily applies to Troy or Albany or even to the suburbs trying to embrace "different" types of development (Fuller Road and the proposed-approved-but-never-built Glassworks village in Guilderland
