Play streets
Tucked into this interesting profile of how Seattle and its chief traffic engineer are trying all sorts of small transit and bike and pedestrian-friendly things is an idea that sounds fun: play streets. It's basically a streamlined process for neighborhoods to get a permit to temporarily close off a street for a block party, play space, art show, or whatever. [Curbed]
