The short-term AG
Barbara Underwood is maybe the most interesting person holding high-level office in New York State right now. In everything we read about the short-term state Attorney General she comes across as calm and (very) competent, including this profile in the New York Law Journal. And yet it's a quirk of fate that she became AG: "I don't think that politics is my talent or my temperament or my taste ... Running for office involves a whole set of skills and activities that are not my strength. I guess that's how I'd put it." [New York Law Journal]
