Drawing: Goat yoga class + beer, wine, and pizza at June Farms

June Farms red barn

Drawing's closed! Winner's been emailed!

Matt Baumgartner's June Farms is starting up a series of goat yoga classes this summer. And we have class tickets for four people to give away -- maybe to you.

To enter the drawing, please answer this question in the comments:

If you could have a place in "the country," where would it be?

Cities are good. Neighborhoods are good. But sometimes it's fun to think about having a place "in the country." Maybe it's a place in the mountains or at a lake. Maybe it's a place where people use summer as a verb. It's a nice daydream. We'll draw one winner a random -- that person gets the four class tickets. (Bring some friends!)

June Farms is offering goat yoga each Thursday in June, July, and August at 6 pm. The classes are led by instructors from the Hot Yoga Spot:

This class will take place down in one of our beautiful pastures, while our baby miniature Nubian goats frolic around you, and quite possibly climb on you while you are posing.
After class, you are invited to The Pony Barn lounge for:
+ One complimentary glass of wine or local draft beer.
+ One complimentary, delicious wood fired pizza from our Le Panyol oven! ...
There are showers & bathrooms on site for you to use before or after class, as well.

Tickets for the classes are $40 and available online. Classes are rain or shine (the rain location is a barn).

June Farms is West Sand Lake in Rensselaer County. Its pony barn lounge is currently open to the public Wednesday-Saturday from 5-11 pm for cocktails and wood-fired pizza.

Important: All comments must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. (Normal commenting guidelines apply.) One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by 5 pm on Thursday and must respond by 5 pm on Friday. Class tickets can be used to subject to available open space in each week's class.

If you could have a place in "the country," where would it be? It would be by the edge of a beautiful Adirondack lake or river like Sacandaga or St. Regis. Toes in the water all summer!

I have a place in the country - it's on the side of a hill in the Taconics - it's got a couple of seasonal brooks and a spring on property. It's only got a camper on it right now but plans are for a 3 season cabin and eventually a small home for my retirement. The best part is that it's on a quiet road that sees almost no traffic. It's my little piece of heaven.

My daydream country house would be a sweet little cottage on the Hudson River

I’m not much of a country girl. But I do like Crooked Lake

If I could have a place in the country, it would be somewhere with no cell service, plenty of trees for a reading hammock, and near a body of water.

A quiet house on a lake in the Adirondacks would be amazing!

I would love a little cabin on a lake up in the Adirondacks. My family loves paddling, and some of the lakes we've been to up there are gorgeous!

I would love a small camp in Sandy Pond. So many childhood memories there!

If I could have a place in the country, I wouldn't really care exactly where it is! As long as it's peaceful with a nice view of the mountains and a lake I would be so happy!

I’d love a place in the Adirondacks. Maybe by a lake to get the best of both worlds - water and mountain activities!!

In West Ghent. I had the best childhood growing up there and really enjoyed playing in the ponds and watching the birds.

I'd take a nice little cottage in Ireland!

To have a place in the country, we would also need time to go with it. Would love to check out June farms!
How about a year round cabin in the Adirondacks?

A small house on a lake with an Adirondack chair and a hammock for napping. Preferably with a fireplace for the winter! Now that sounds nice.

My "country" would be a place in the Adirondacks, near one of the small hamlets that for whatever reason are skipped over by most of the touristing crowd. Others can have Lake Placid or Saranac Lake - I'll take a place like Newcomb, Minerva, or Piseco surrounded by natural beauty and with just the right amount of neighbors.

Would love to have a house on one of the Finger Lakes!

Jenny Lake in Corinth. Close enough, but so far away!

Wyoming.

I'll take a place in Lake Placid, please and thank you. Water views requested. Joy to follow.

A little cottage on Lake Champlain

Egremont, MA

Berkshires!

Definitely a house on the lake somewhere up in the Adirondacks!

I have a special place in my heart for Blue Mountain Lake in the Adirondaks, so a nice little cabin with lake view would be my choice.

Well this is a little too open ended I guess. No other contingencies...probably somewhere in the northwest (MT/WY/ID/OR/WA). Someplace I could get to on the weekends from the capital district...or maybe a retirement place...northern Vermont or maybe Saranac/Lake Placid area. "Commutable"...NE Catskills or eastern Renns County. Proximity to mountains and trout streams are large factors.

My dream country home would be a small cabin on an out of the way Adirondack lake, with sweeping panoramic views of the water and the mountains from a deck :)

The Berkshires or Columbia County.

Somewhere along the Hudson or in the Berkshires! Surrounded by nature. I've seen some beautiful new hotels renovated from 20th century properties in the Catskills.

Eagle Lake sounds nice. Play with the kids.

I'd love a place out in Hillsdale. Such beautiful countryside!

I'm going for Columbia County: country yet closer to NYC than Albany. (And I really want to do yoga with the goats!) And if we can put it on a lake with no powerboats, all the better.

I would have a little cabin on a lake in the Adirondacks.

Lakeside by Lake Winnipesaukee! So beautiful.

This is so hard, I have thought about this a lot. I think the answer is on a lake in the Adirondacks, but Columbia County is so enticing.

Near the San Juan Mountains in Colorado

I would love a cozy cottage on Lake George!

We would love a place in the great Adirondacks!! Year round relaxation in beautiful NYS!!

Lake Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

I'm going to jump on the train and also say a little place on a lake in the Adirondacks.

After reading Chekhov, I always wanted a little dacha in the Russian countryside with incredibly fresh produce like gooseberries, animals and birds running around and a beautiful picturesque scenery. I'd eat honey and black bread and make toasts while drinking vodka. (serfs not included)

I would have a cabin on top of a Mountain in the Catskills! With no cell service but lots of shady trees where the adventures never end!

If I could have a place in the country it would be in the Catskills, near an animal sanctuary :)

I wouldn't mind a little place in the English countryside, but I'd also settle for the Berkshires. A cottage, but of the Gilded Age variety :)

I would love a house on martha's vineyard with some beach access and a view!

without a doubt, on a lake with a sailboat.

My place in the country would most definitely be on the tropical island of Lombok, Indonesia. I hate to publish it here and spoil it, but it's simply amazing.

How about Rivendell from Lord of the Rings?

But seriously, Vancouver Island in Canada is a beautiful place I would love to retire to someday.

We have a family friend who has a rustic log cabin in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It’s absolutely gorgeous - secluded, quiet and so peaceful. Definitely my dream country property!

I'd go for a small, old farmhouse in the Tuscan country side. I spent time working on a farm there and would be back in a heartbeat!

Acres and acres with rustic, old barns, goats and gardens, paths for hiking or 4-wheeling, and water for floating and fishing.

It would be lakefront in the Adirondacks with a view of the mountains and total privacy. With loons. And sunshine. :)

Anywhere in the Adirondacks!

A small cozy cabin on Friends Lake in the Adirondacks

I have this fantasy of a beautiful house out west in the mountains, with evergreens all around, a great view of the river, and snow falling silently.

A house next to a waterfall and near the woods.
