(Or: Another reason why continuing to work the combined sewer overflow problem can be a benefit.) [Curbed]

With Hudson being an estuary that barely flows, does anyone expect water - especially in summer - to be clean enough for swimming?

Is there any information on how contaminated (by sewage or otherwise) the Hudson is in the area? I remember talk and work of "dredging the Hudson" for probably 20 years if not more.
