Here's the fall season for the Arts Center's "Social Media" crafts-and-drinks series
The popular "Social Media" drinks-and-arts series at the Arts Center of the Capital Region is back for a new season starting next week. Blurbage:
Each event provides an opportunity to try something new in our state of the art studios. Etch prints, throw on the wheel, make sweet treats, and much more! Every event includes a complimentary cocktail, so come over, get creative, and get social!
A schedule is below. This season also includes a few classes at the University Club in Albany.
Each class starts at 5:30 pm. The class fee ranges from $40-$50 depending on class. And the classes do fill up, so registering earlier rather than later isn't a bad idea if you'd like to go.
September 4: Pottery Party
"Enjoy a drink with your friends, and then get your hands in the clay in the ceramics studio. Learning to throw on a potter's wheel takes practice, so for one night, just have fun trying! You'll create your own bowl then pick from two glazes to finish it. Our team of potters will fire your work for you and you can collect your piece at a later date."
September 18: Sip & Saw: Rustic Woodworking
"Sip some cocktails while creating a piece of functional art in our woodworking studio. Using re-purposed barn wood, we'll construct a rustic yet elegant shelf for your home."
September 26: Paint by Palmer @ The University Club of Albany
"Come learn about one of Albany's historic artists Walter Launt Palmer, and create your own Palmer inspired landscape painting! A brief presentation of the collection of Palmer's work on display at the University Club will be given, followed by a painting instruction in which we will emulate Palmer's signature landscape style."
October 2: Tattoo Flash Art
"Discover the art of classic tattoo design while sipping on a cocktail! You'll also have the opportunity to draw out your own design with the guidance of a professional tattoo artist."
October 16: Bean to Bar: Chocolate Treats
"Are you a chocolate lover? Explore how chocolate is made and what ingredients make it so delicious! In this chocolate making workshop we will hand temper chocolate and make chocolate bark with tasty seasonal ingredients. Instructor Oliver Holeck will also discuss how he sources ingredients, as well as how and whom it benefits."
November 6: Pie Crust Take & Bake

By the end of the night you will have a perfectly made pie and delicious filling of your choice ready to bake for your next holiday meal!"
November 20: Holiday Wreaths
