Drawing: Historic Haunted Pub Crawl of Downtown Albany

spooky Ten Broeck Mansion

Drawing's closed! Winner's been emailed!

The Historic Haunted Pub Crawl of Downtown Albany have returned this month. And we have a pair of tickets to give away -- maybe to you.

To enter the drawing, please answer this question in the comments:

What's your favorite Halloween treat?

It could be a certain type of Halloween candy. It could be a season beer. It could be whatever. We'll draw one winner a random and that person gets the pair of tickets.

The Historic Haunted Public of Downtown Albany is a collaboration among the Historic Albany Foundation, Ten Broeck Mansion, and The Original Albany Ghost Tour. Blurbage:

Begin your ghost hunt with a tour of Ten Broeck Mansion, one of the most haunted public sites in Albany. Trained docents will guide you through its haunted halls, regaling you with tales of the supernatural. Who is the woman in white seen gazing sadly upon Ten Broeck Triangle? What does the Man with the billy goat beard want from Mansion visitors? The answers may lie within the walls of Ten Broeck. Those who are brave enough to complete the tour will be rewarded with a seasonal treat, thanks to our generous sponsors from the Albany Distilling Co., CH Evans Brewery, and Cider Belly Doughnuts!
The Halloween fun doesn't end there! If you survive the Mansion, your tour guide will lead you to Olde English Pub & Pantry, McGeary's Irish Pub, and the Hollow Bar + Kitchen. Along the way, you can look forward to supernatural tales regarding Albany's history and our rich folklore.

Tour dates for the rest of the season include October 16, 18, 23, 25, and 30. (So Tuesdays and Thursdays until Halloween.) Tours start at 5:30 pm, 6:15 pm, and 7 pm those days. Tickets are $25 and available online.

Important: All comments must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. (Normal commenting guidelines apply.) One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by 5 pm on Wednesday and must respond by noon on Thursday.

My favorite Halloween treat is a caramel apple, preferably while watching It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

My favorite Halloween treat is seeing the neighborhood kids in their costumes as I'm handing out the candy. And maybe sneaking a few candy bars for myself...

Pumpkin beer with a cinnamon brown sugar rim. Plus anything baked i'll eat.

You know that orange and black Reese cup is the one!

Pumpkin bread for sure

Reese's pumpkins

Popcorn balls

Once a year -- only on the night of Halloween -- I enjoy a glass of the strong Italian herbal liqueur Strega. Strega is Italian for witch and there is a witch on the label.

Cider donuts after apple picking!

A cup of hot apple cider and a cider donut.

Pumpkin beer and apple cider!

Cider donuts

A cup of hot apple cider and a cider donut.

Any kind of pumpkin ale

kitkats!!!

Candy corn taffy

Giving out odd candy like Charleston Chews and Mallow Cups to confused trick or treaters and hoping that they try them and learn that they're awesome.

I love giving out candy to all the dressed up kids. Growing up I lived out a ways and we were lucky if our neighbors stopped by. Now, I run out of candy!

Charleston Chew. It’s the longest candy bar in the store

Walking through the local cemetery...blindfolded

who's house is giving out the Snickers bars?

My favorite Halloween treat is a bag of Three Musketeers. Yum Yum!!!!!

I love the beer & Halloween candy pairing at Rare Form!

Warm cider donut!

Hot spiced cider and a donut

Sugared Cider donuts and chocolate mile

Pumpkin pie and whip cream!!

Hearing costumed kids gasp and giggle as I try to scare them at the door! ????????

Candy Corn

Snickers, and not eating the candy I bought for Halloween before Halloween night!

Twix bars all the way!

My favorite Halloween treat is getting full size candy bars. No minis for me. Yum.

I know I can get them year-round, but I only eat Butterfingers candy bars at Halloween.

Dogs in costumes.

Gotta be Pumking from Southern Tier.

Pumpkin cookies!

Children in costumes:)

Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats with a Tootsie Roll on top

Caramel Apples are my absolute favorite!!!

I really enjoy seeing the kids in their costumes trick or treating.

Any half price candy the day after Halloween

Seeing all the kids so excited to be dressing up and showing off their costumes! ???? ????

Southern Tier Warlock Imperial Pumpkin Stout

Reese’s and bourbon.

My favorite Halloween treat is an assorted bag of Child’s Play Tootsie Mix- the only place to find those rainbow midgets! The lime and cherry are always gone too quick.

I love all things Reese's, but frozen or at least cold. And roaming cemeteries when I get a chance, although it doesn't have to be this time of year for that, just makes it a little spookier when it is.

Candy Corn!

Dogs in costumes :)

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
