Explosive devices sent to Clinton/ Obama
The secret service has intercepted a "functional explosive device" sent to Bill and Hillary Clinton's Westchester County home and another sent to the offices of Barack Obama. They have been linked to one found Monday at the home of billionaire George Soros. [NYT]
Cuomo/ Molinaro debate
+Andrew Cuomo and Mark Molinaro met on Tuesday night for what ended up being a contentious debate -- the only one they are likely to have before the November election. Cuomo and Molinaro sparred over a range of issues, including taxes and spending, corruption and Molinaro's stance on Donald Trump. Puleski indicted in death of infant
Heaven Puleski, the mother of 4-month-old Rayen Puleski, found dead over the summer after being missing for weeks, was indicted this morning on second degree murder charges in her son's death. Puleski pled not guilty to six counts including second degree murder. [Spectrum][Gazette][TU]
Drug bust
Thirty people were charged in a drug bust in Saratoga and Warren Counties on Tuesday. According to the State Attorney General's office, the drug ring was supplying cocaine, heroin and prescription pills to Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties. The bust is the culmination of a year long investigation and resulted in 205 felony counts.[Spectrum][TU][WNYT]
Chemical plant pollution control project
The owners the SI Group, a Rotterdam chemical plant, have agreed to a $13.8 million pollution control project with the state Department of Environmental Conservation.[TU]
