Hotter summers, warmer winters
This localized climate projection over at Vox highlights some of the ways that climate change could end up affecting the Albany area -- including average summer highs in the upper 80s, as well as much warmer winter lows. (The projections are based on some well-established climate models, but of course there's always some uncertainty.) And, as a climate scientist explained to us a few years back, small shifts in average conditions can have a big impact on the frequency and intensity of extreme events such as heat waves and large rain storms.
