A mural of Henry Johnson and members of the 369th Infantry Regiment along that went up along Henry Johnson Boulevard in Albany a few months back. (The mural is by Samson Contompasis.)

It's Veterans Day (observed) Monday.

The annual Albany Veterans Day Parade will be starting at Central and Ontario and heads east on Central to Hawk Street by the Capitol. It starts at 11 am.

And the USS Slater will be open for tours all day.

Veterans in New York and the Capital Region
There are almost 700,000 veterans living in New York State, according to the latest Census Bureau estimates. And there are more than 49,000 veterans in the Capital Region.
