Short bio
Brew is a beverage shop focusing on craft beer, specialty coffee, loose tea, and other quality drinks for off-premise consumption. The store is slated to open early summer 2014 in Albany's Center Square neighborhood. In addition to beverages, Brew will offer the supplies and ingredients for customers to brew their own concoctions.
A description of the proposed project
photo: Patrick Dodson
Our proposal is to utilize $1,500 towards educational programming at Brew. This includes bringing in brew masters or coffee roasters for talks, hosting historians to discuss Albany's brewing history, and any other culturally enriching event that falls under the umbrella of craft beverages.
How would the grant money help?
This funding would act as an incubator for educational events at our 209 Lark Street location. The Lark Street area is incredibly vibrant and we are excited to step up to the plate and offer unique events that the neighborhood is looking for. Funds for these events will be continuously sourced through donations. We want this business to be more than just a beer store or a coffee shop, and look forward to hosting engaging activities for everyone in the Capital District to enjoy.
