Who: Lindsay Rae
Short bio
My name is Lindsay Rae and I run Lindsay Rae Photography. I have a passion for photography with a desire to help women discover their inner and outer beauty. Just because we grow older, have children, families, husbands and/or careers, it does not mean our sexual and feminine side simply disappears. Boudoir is about embracing your sensuality and feminity - breaking down your pre-conceived notions about beauty to show you how gorgeous you really are. As a woman guilty of this myself, I see so many struggling with negative self-image. We do this because we internalize the unrealistic expectations of beauty that are set out for us by the media and entertainment industry. The truth is, you are exactly as you are meant to be, perfect in your realest form. It is my mission to teach women body acceptance and self love, because after all, if we do not love ourselves wholey first, what else is there to love?
A description of the proposed project
I would love to be able to expand our marketing reach to be able to let more women in the capital district know that opportunities like this exist. I have heard from so many people, that they never knew what boudoir was, and now that they know, they are inspired and empowered to take the dive and explore their sensuality, vulnerability and to gain confidence in themselves.
How would the grant money help?
Very simply I would use the $1500 to expand our marketing reach both on social media and in print marketing. Boudoir is something that most women do not know that they need. There is a fire that is lit in my clients, a zest for life again, a love of self and most importantly a confidence when they leave their sessions. In a time and age where the media is constantly shoving ideas of beauty in our face, it is beyond important to be reminded that we are allowed to be real, that we are allowed to have curves, and edges, we are allowed to be vulnerable, and we are allowed to be REAL women.
