The Albany Poet's Wordfest is a two day party (or at least, it seems like a party) "featuring the poetry, spoken word, and music of upstate New York."
The USS Slater
The WWII destroyer escort The USS Slater has dropped anchor in Albany once again. The ship is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 10-4.
Albany Symphony at The Palace
A little Ravel, a little Gershwin. It's called "Inspired by Jazz."
They Might Be Giants at The Egg
TMBG is playing two shows at The Egg. The 3 pm show is "family friendly" and the 8 pm show is for grown-ups.
What's with the country music theater?
If you like country music and theater, you're in luck this weekend. Hank Williams: Lost Highway at Capital Rep
and Ring of Fire," a show about Johnny Cash, at Proctors.
Schnitzelfest
For real. It's a night of German music, dancing and food including -- say it with us -- schnitzel. It's Saturday night at The German-American Club of Albany -- $20 dinner and dancing, $6 just to dance. Reservations 489-0831.
