Now we know

pint of beer

What problem could New York State have with this pint of beer?

In the course of cranking out AOA each week, we come across a bunch of interesting little facts and tidbits (mmm, tidbits) that make us think, "Huh... didn't know that."

So, we figured we'd scrape the pan at the end of the week to collect all these little informational morsels. Here are a few we found...

+ The median salary for teachers in Albany County is almost $52,000 a year. [TU]

+ The amount bet on the Travers this year was $37 million, of which more than $8 million was actually bet at The Track. [CBS6]

+ In his 14 years as mayor, Jerry Jennings has never vetoed a piece of legislation. [TU]

+ There is such a thing as a too-big sample at a brewery. New York State only allows two 3-ounce samples per flavor. [Saratogian]

+ Five thousand hot dogs will fit in two chest freezers. You do have to take them out of the box to make them fit, though. [AOA]

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
