More Theory

Steve has more details about Theory, the soon-to-be place on Lark. One of its partners says they're aiming for it to be "a place for grownups."

Upscale dining. Wonderful. I hope they have tinted windows. We wouldn't want that long line around the corner in front of the social services building to disrupt the classy atmosphere. No we would not.

This place will be a college bar...mark my words. It's the only way they can make money. Why do you think they are so focused on spinning it for "grown-ups." They are all 20 and 30 somethings that probably hang around college bars themselves. They don't know what 'grown up' means.

Have you ever heard of the other one-word upscale trendy lounge in Albany? It's called Tryst, and it was all over the news a few months ago because someone got whacked upside the head with a bottle.

Lark St should not become Pearl Street. Too many people live here and 4am is terrible when the bars let out.

Damn...I'm running out of bars where I can bring my kid along.
