Grab lunch with us on Monday

Nipper's chicago-style hot dogs

This could be Monday's lunch.

Nipper's Hot Dogs -- the cart that served Chicago-style hot dogs in Troy last year -- will be setting up in Albany this year on lunch truck row near the Capitol. Opening day is Monday.

As we found out last year, Nipper's makes some tasty dogs. So we're going to be rolling up to Nipper's on Monday for lunch around noon. If you're in the area, we'd love to say hi.

Bonus: if you buy two of Nipper's dogs on Monday (they're two for $5 $6 -- see Bob's comment), you can get a free soda by mentioning "All Over Albany."

Would love to meet you but my work keeps me in Troy for lunchtime!

Mmmm... I know what I'm doing for lunch on Monday. Anyone else going to be there?

Actually the price this year is $3.50ea / 2 for $6.00 on the "Chicago Style" oversize polish sausage , always free condiments..the natural casing traditional hot dogs are $2.50ea / 2 for $4.00...sauerkraut cooked in ale or red onion sauce @ $.50 per serving..They're NIPPERLICIOUS!

I'm gonna try and stop by. May give up depending on parking, but will certainly give it a shot!

I didn't have anything like that in NYC this weekend, so I'm all over those on Monday! Yay for venders opening again. We've been waiting so long!!

When you're done stalking the AOA editors today, feel free to stalk me. I'll be at Uncommon Grounds. Please identify yourself by quietly sitting alone at a table with an open laptop in front of you. Please make sure to show no interest in anyone around you. Thanks!

Oh, why not... I'll try to stop by, it's not really picture-taking weather but I'll bring my camera anyway.

I just got back from their stand across from the L.O.B. and I was impressed. Actually, that's an understatement. The ingredients are extremely fresh, the taste was out of this world, and the owner was extremely polite and a pleasure to talk to. I'll definitely be going back on my lunch breaks for some more of this tasty goodness.

I got my super yummy hotdogs with the works. Did you?? :)

OK, I stopped up, but honestly it was so cold and windy that I didn't feel like chatting. The Big Nipper is the best deal in town though, do this again on a nicer day!

Just got back...

I've been waiting for this for a long time, and I must say, it rocked!

Great food and great service! I'm so happy they've relocated to the Capitol.

Was amazed just how easy it was to get a parking spot. Does it get worse during the summer? I wouldn't mind trying some of the other "grease trucks" (So I spent some time at Rutgers U:) ) during the summer.

Thank you for setting up the event. It was great to meet everyone who came out, if only briefly.

The Nipper Dog did leave a lasting impression on me, and it's not just the onions talking either. You take a hot juicy fatty beef dog and you combine it with what could be described as an austere salad. It's a similar school of thought to Pittsburgh style sandwiches.

I'm glad I could be there to help welcome Nippers to Albany.

Hey...All Over Albany...you made our day!
Thank you and all of your followers for coming out on such a
dismal day to welcome Nippers to Albany and showing your support! All Over Albany is the best!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
