My Exit: Kaitlyn Ross

Yep, that's News 9's Kaitlyn Ross under there.

Every Monday night our friends at WEXT do this thing called My Exit -- local listeners get to come into the station and program an hour of music. So we thought it'd be fun to find out a little bit about these people and why they picked the songs on their play list.

Here's tonight's person:

Who?

Kaitlyn Ross, Clifton Park, NY, Morning Reporter at Capital News 9

How would you describe your musical taste?

I like everything- INCLUDING Country, HA, and love going to live shows regardless of genre. What I listen to most often is what's on my iPod at the gym, and female folk artists when I'm relaxing. I recently got Sirius Radio and am addicted to CNN, so it's cut a lot of my listening time in the car.

Three songs from Kaitlyn's show:

Girl Inside My Head - Blues Traveler- I recorded My Exit right after I saw them at Alive at 5 and was very impressed. I was always a fan of the band, but it was a fantastic show... though I am disappointed I didn't catch a Harmonica.

Brighter - Paramore- The lead singer, Hayley Williams, is phenomial... Really like her voice, lyrics are incredible, and most of their stuff is great to work out to.

Piece of My Heart-Janis Joplin- This is my karaoke song! She's one of my all time favorites.

You can hear Kaitlyn's My Exit show tonight at 8 at 97.7 or at exit977.org. Here's how to schedule your own My Exit show on WEXT.

As long as she plays The Hold Steady I'll be happy. Good luck Kate!

Good to know that one of my favorite local news people has good taste in music. If she'd had a list full of American Idol/Disney Channel performers, I would have had started thinking she deserved all of those insane assignments CN9 makes her do.

Yeah, she's def one of the best news people we've got in the capital district.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
