Most of the places in Albany are catch and release...so...

Essentially, we are encouraging children to torture fish...

Great. No, seriously. This is great.

Oh, give me a break. You can't find something a little more substantial to whine about than a simple pastime? I think it's a great opportunity for some kids to be able to experience something that they otherwise wouldn't.

Teaching kids catch and release might not be such a bad thing considering the ever popular mis-guided youth past time of shoot-em up bang bang!!

If we combine some of the ideas above, yes, the public library could also loan hunting rifles.

@Slacker I am not whining about anything. I am more thinking about the fish who are going to be killed by kids ripping their jaws off, which will then end up floating along the shores of the lake in Washington Park. Perfect for when those Aquaduck tours come by...

"And look at Washington Park, that dead fish smell is brought to you by the APL."

@Mistake Don't get me wrong, while I disagree with you, I understand what you're saying. But I can't help but think your outrage might be more useful directed... anywhere else? The occasional misguided kid mutilating the occasional unlucky fish is a small drop in the bucket compared to all the bad shit going on in the world.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
