The Daily Gazette reports that its circulation numbers are up more than 20 percent compared to last year -- and it credits the increases to the pay wall on its website. Good for the Gazette! I'm very happy to hear that they're figuring out a way to make some money off the Internet. At some point in the future, I hope to see a universal system of payment on the Internet -- i.e. you just give your credit card once to the universal system, and then you can make all your payments on the Net. I'd be more inclined to purchase archived articles from newspaper sites if I didn't have to give each one of them my credit card every time. (PayPal kind of works like that, but I'd like a system that works on iTunes, news sites, ebay, everything!)
