When TWC re-shuffled the cable lineup (AKA, when they took Anthony Bourdain from us), one of the newly included channels was Discovery Health. At the time, we were like, "WTF is this? It's a whole channel seemingly dedicated to giving us medical student syndrome." Well, today we came across the answer: Discovery Health is simply a placeholder for the channel to end all channels: OWN -- that would be the Oprah Winfrey Channel, which launches January 1. [NYT]
