Capital Region gluten-free restaurant listing
There are two major hurdles to jump when you're gluten-free and dining out: finding a restaurant that understands cross contact and gluten, and finding a chef that will prepare you more than a "safe" meal consisting of salad with a piece of grilled chicken on top.
Fortunately we've got some options in the Capital Region.
Thanks to Jennifer's question and a bunch of great suggestions from the AOA crowd, we were able to compile a listing/map that highlights many of the restaurants in the area that offer gluten-free options.
The next step I'm hoping for in New York? A law like Massachusetts' new one that requires all restaurant managers to go through food allergy certification.
A quick note: The list includes mostly non-chain restaurants. P.F. Chang's, Outback, Chipotle and Chili's are national chain restaurants, with local operations, that also offer gluten-free options.
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
