Niskayuna bear

There was a bear spotted visiting Niskayuna today, according to police. Apparently it was drawn there because of the school district. [Daily Gazette] Earlier: Foxes and fishers and bears, oh my!

That's interesting. I live in Colonie, not far from the Niskayuna line. Last week while mowing the lawn, my husband found what he thinks is bear scat. I was skeptical, but it did look like the photos we saw online. Now I'm wondering...

drawn there because of the school district?

odd. I can think of better school districts for the bears than Niskayuna.

Why arent they trying to capture it and bring it back to the adirondaks? some of us concerned residents in the area where the bear was spotted have pets we let outside and small children, although it shows no signs of agression this bear will only get bigger and stand its ground if it feels threatened. this is no area for a bear to be roaming around. joggers, kids etc!

I KNEW I wasn't crazy when I saw what looked like a black bear in Lisha Kill Preserve on Sunday! My doofus dog saw it first and tried to run after it, thinking it was an animal who would want to play with him. Yeah, right.

Number 1 threat to suburbia: BEARS!
