Watch out for wi-fi hackers
Over the weekend, Bombers and Wolff's Biergarten owner Matt Baumgartner discovered that the Wolff's wi-fi network had been compromised. Matt was embarrassed by the new name, which he called "uncreative," but said that most of his friends thought the switch was funny.
If you're a Frank Zappa fan, you're in on the joke. If not, it's still kind of a funny way to alert a business to the lack of security of its wi-fi network. We've heard of people having their access denied or their wi-fi disappearing altogether, so at least none of that happened.
What's next? Will someone rename the Miss Albany Diner wi-fi "Lumpy Gravy?" The Fuze Box wi-fi to "Disco Boy?" Or the Capitol building wi-fi "Playground Psychotics?"
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Going to point out the obvious here. If someone was able to compromise the network, they could do a lot more damage than just change the name of the network. Like sniff traffic, snoop on usernames, passwords, whatever else people are sending over the network. Be careful out there.
