Deliveryman robbery
Albany police reported that a Chinese food deliveryman was robbed Wednesday night in north Albany (release after the jump). It is, by our unofficial count, at least the seventh deliveryman robbery this year in the city (we counted none last year). The incident fit the pattern: late-night, multiple attackers who were armed, people at the address said they didn't make an order. Earlier on AOA: Why you should tip your pizza delivery guy more
APD: deliveryman robbery Walter Street
Albany police are investigating the robbery of a deliveryman last night on Walter Street.
The incident occurred at 10:20 p.m. outside of 30 Walter Street. A deliveryman from the Sun Fai Chinese Restaurant in Menands was in the process of delivering food at that address when two men came from the side of the building. They asked him if he had change for a fifty dollar bill. One of the men then pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim turn over the food and his money. The victim complied and handed over the food and approximately $50.
Both suspects then took off on foot heading northeast through a church parking lot towards North Pearl Street. The victim described the suspects as black males in their twenties.
A canvass was conducted by officers on the scene. The residents at 30 Walter Street told officers they did not order food.
