The Time Warner Cable Yule Log: now in 3D

Time Warner Yule Log in 3D

The 3D Yule Log (minus 3D TV and 3D glasses)

This weekend, we were looking for a little festive background music while decorating the tree, when suddenly we remembered this audiovisual experience.

So we checked and sure enough, there it was -- the Time Warner Cable Holiday Yule Log channel is back, on the Free Movies on Demand Channel (1030). And this year it's available in a new dimension.

Yep, for those of you who really want the feeling of your TV going up in flames, the Yule Log Channel is now available in 3D -- but only if you have a 3D TV and special 3D glasses. You can still watch the regular or high-def Yule Log.

We checked with Time Warner and they don't provide the 3D glasses.

The Snowman and Wintergreen channels are also available in high-def, but not in 3D. (Too much spiked eggnog + 3D snowmen = yikes?)

We're feeling more festive already.

I don't mean to take any wind out of their sails (or maybe I do) but... I prefer my own HD yule log, of an ACTUAL fireplace... I guess I'm just old fashioned. Also, those darned kids should turn down their music and/or get off my lawn. ... I think I need to go find a cane to wave at those darn'ed young'ns

Merry Holidays!

:D

For those without Time Warner cable, Netflix also has "Fireplace For Your Home" on streaming. There's no snowmen or music but it is a burning log fire. To me, it just looks weird though on the big TV....especially next to our non-working fireplace.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?

If winter ever gets its act together and drops more snow on us, there will be sidewalks to shovel. And shortly after that, Albany will... (more)
