Last day for Empire State Plaze ice rink

empire state plaza ice skating 2012The ice rink on the ESP will close for the season tonight (Tuesday) at 8 pm (it's going to be close to 60 later this week, you know). Good news for next year, from the Plaza Facebook update: "Planning for next winter is currently underway." It was great to have the rink back this year -- we certainly had some fun there, and it was good to see people using the ESP during winter.

I really really hope they open it next year too. So much fun. The ice isn't great on the weekend when it gets crowded, but there's nothing better than skating w/no crowd on a weeknight. I absolutely love it.

They weren't even open until 8. We showed up around 6:30 and it was closed. Bah.
