Busted

Albany police say they busted another house party in Pine Hills this past weekend (press release after the jump). The APD says it's the seventh party the department's broken up since November in which minors were allegedly being served alcohol, part of its continuing "focus on quality of life issues in and around Pine Hills." The department seems to be making it a point lately to publicize the busts of these parties -- which is not surprising considering what happened a year ago. We suspect there will be plenty of attention paid to the neighborhood this coming weekend.

APD: Party at 493 Hamilton
Albany police arrested a 20 year old college student for hosting a party over the weekend in which he provided beer to several minors at the party.
Police responded to t at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday after neighbor's called the police about the loud noise coming from the party. When officers arrived, approximately 100 people were seen on both the first and second floors. They were yelling, screaming and dancing to very loud music that could be heard down the street.
While officer's were breaking up the party they spoke with several people carrying beer who appeared to be under the age of 21. Officer's requested identification from them and determined that they were in fact under 21 years of age.
The host, Anthony Scialdone, 20 was charged with five counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor in the First Degree.
He was arraigned in Albany City Court Sunday morning.
This is the second time Scialdone was arrested for hosting a large party. In October he was charged with violating the City's General City Ordinance for Unnecessary and Unusual Noise.
As the department continues to focus on quality of life issues in and around Pine Hills this is the seventh party since November that the department has broken up and arrested the hosts for providing alcohol to minors.

Glad they are doing this. He should probably make his twitter account private.

Good. I completely approve of enforcing the noise ordinance!

How stupid can you be? You've been arrested once already, which you'd think would make you gun shy, but no...you have an even bigger and louder party chock full o' minors...it didn't occur to you that the cops might come? Now I remember what it was like to be 20, so I'm not without feeling for the kid, but that stuff has become a blight on Pine Hills and the SUNY name. Hopefully he will be made an example of by the school as well.

These types of children (yes, he's a child if he behaves this way even at age 20) do not deserve to be in university. There's no point wasting education on people like this.

Also, TK is right, he should make his twitter account private, he's shown absolutely no indication that he is taking these charges seriously. To quote from his twitter feed: "Albany cops are straight scum...left my house wide open while I was locked...I'm going to take down these ----- -------"

I really want to move back into Albany, but with spoiled rotten children like this making the quality of life so poor, I doubt that I will any time soon.

WW don't be scared by these punks. Come back to Albany.
