Uptick
The Times Union's Cathleen Crowley got some numbers to highlight the recent uptick in local cases of anaplasmosis, a(nother) disease transmitted to humans by ticks (it's bacterial and treatable with antibiotics). As it happens, we were recently talking with Otto's vet about the disease -- he mentioned their office has seen an upswing in dog cases, as well. There are indications this will be a big year for ticks. [TU] [CDC] [Carey Institute]
