Sister Spirit lives

Paul Grondahl has an update on the Sister Spirt/Ass Backward, the comedy that shot in Albany in 2010 and then ran out of money, leaving many local vendors unpaid -- apparently many (or at least some) of its creditors have now been paid and the producers are hoping for 2013 release. (Here's a poster for the movie that was circulating late last year.)

Sounds like good news for most people involved. Hopefully everyone will get paid. I for one, along with my sister Catherine and her boyfriend Mike, were there by way of James of the local talent agency and being non-union are owed $40. For that amount we were pretending we were in a dance club at the old Plastic Lounge from 10PM until 2AM! Earlier in the night we walked back and forth in front of Lodge's for at least a half an hour. Very late night to say the least. Plus, we started filming at 5PM... Hopefully we can spot ourselves for a second in the film.
I hope it gets rave reviews. It sounds like alot of people went through hell and back to get this back on track.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
