Yaddo's a landmark -- maybe an official one, eventually
Kirsten Gillibrand is pushing for Yaddo in Saratoga to become a National Historic Landmark. According to KG's letter to the federal Secretary of the Interior, the artists who have worked at Yaddo have collectively won "66 Pulitzer Prizes, 27 MacArthur Fellowships, 61 National Book Awards, 40 National Book Critics Circle Awards, 108 Rome Prizes, 51 Whiting Writers' Awards and a Nobel Peace Prize in Literature in 1976."
