Bill Nye

Wednesday at Union College: Bill Nye -- AKA, Bill Nye the Science Guy -- will be giving a talk, "An Evening with Bill Nye." Among Nye's recent exploits: critiquing Jose Canseco's thoughts on gravity, and somehow handling a stupid question from a CNN anchor. Wednesday 7 pm, Memorial chapel - free, note: "Seating is limited and priority will be given to members of the campus community."

Arts and sciences

Sunrise
Proctors' AFI 100 series is showing F.W. Murnau's 1927 film Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans on Monday. The silent film will be accompanied by Proctors' Wurlitzer organ. Monday 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm - $5

Poverty in the Capital District
Monday at Hudson River Coffee House: a panel discussion about "how poverty affects residents of the Capital District and what it looks like in our neighborhoods." Organized by the Siena College AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows program. 6 pm

As You Like It

The Old is New consignment sale -- for "women's, men's and junior's clothing and accessories, as well as furniture and home decor" -- is back at the Albany Academy Field House Saturday-Monday (the last day is half-price day). We checked out the first sale last summer.
