Livingston v. Moore

visit from st nick trial moore ghostA courtroom at the Rensselaer County Courthouse was packed Wednesday evening (evening a ghost or two were present) for the trial to decide who actually wrote the poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas," which first appeared in the Troy Sentinel 190 years ago. The verdict: a hung jury (it sounds like the fix was in). Out of all the coverage, the Record's Danielle Sanzone earns bonus points for writing her recap in verse. Thanks so much AOA for covering this event and thanks to all involved. We've already gotten some national press for this event, but I'm very excited to report that the Wall Street Journal attended the trial to cover it and will be publishing a report on Christmas Day (according to plan). There was a lot of magic in the city last night and the WSJ was there to witness it all. NBC national news requested footage from WNYT so keep your eyes peeled for something on NBC as well. Even mental_floss, the greatest magazine in the world, posted about the trial!

The Scoop
