A public platform for the sharing economy
A tiny bit of follow up to last week's post about taxi-app services possibly coming to the Albany area: Over at Al Jazeera America Dean Baker argues for a "public option" for sharing economy services. Example: A municipal-run taxi app. (A few places are already heading in that direction.) We suspect Baker might be overestimating a local government's ability to pull off something like that -- but his op/ed touches on some of the important angles of the "sharing economy."
