Over at Lit Hub there's an article/interview with Lydia Davis -- internationally-acclaimed writer and UAlbany professor (among many other things) -- that starts with Davis's effort to translate a major work of Norwegian fiction... even though she doesn't (yet) speak Norwegian and isn't using a dictionary.
