The Track
It's the second full week of the season at the Saratoga Race Course. Monday is cooler bag giveaway day. Wednesday is Saratoga Centennial Day, with free admission. Saturday is headlined by The Whitney. (And, of course, there is no racing on Tuesday.)
Philadelphia Orchestra
Wednesday: The Philadelphia Orchestra opens its annual residency at SPAC with concert featuring Bernadette Peters. Thursday is a "date night" concert. Friday's program is "An evening with Yo-Yo Ma." And Saturday's program is a multimedia performance of soundtracks from Pixar movies. The orchestra will be at SPAC through August 22.
Schoharie County Sunshine Fair
The Schoharie County Sunshine Fair opened this past weekend at the fairgrounds in Cobleskill. It runs through Saturday.
Stage
WTF
The Williamstown Theatre Festival continues its production of the new musical Unknown Soldier this week. And its production of Moon for the Misbegotten, starring Audra McDonald and Will Swenson, opens Thursday.
Murder for Two
This is the last week for Capital Rep's production of Murder for Two -- "a hilarious musical murder mystery with a twist: one actor investigates the crime, the other plays all of the suspects and they both play the piano." Tuesday-Sunday various times - $20 and up
Pajama Game
Tuesday: The Park Playhouse in Albany opens its August production, The Pajama Game. It runs through August 22. Tuesday-Sunday 7:30 pm - lawn seating is free / reserved seats are $16 and $18
Capitol Park After Dark
Wednesday: The series of free movies screened outside the Capitol in West Capitol Park starts with Mary Poppins. Wednesday 8 pm - free
Food trucks
Looking ahead toward the weekend: The popular Fork in the Road food truck event returns to Tricentennial Park in downtown Albany Friday evening (the once-a-month event had skipped July because of the Fourth of July). It also coincides with the Downtown Albany Residential Open House, in which eight downtown residential properties will be open for touring (4-7 pm). Friday 4-8 pm - free admission

If you are anyone you know are planning a wedding, I'm hosting a special vendor pop up in my event design studio on Friday from 4-8pm at 54 James Street in downtown Albany. True North Bridal Studio will have lovely gowns by independent designers and accessories too. Crisan Bakery is providing cake samples for the brides to be and Flower Scout will be showing off her bouquet making talents!
