Protected intersections

Quick follow-up link to the protected bike lanes discussion: There are also "protected intersections" and what's said to be the first one in the United States recently opened in Davis, California. (Apparently it was inspired by a city council member's experience in the Netherlands.) Here's a video explainer of the idea. [Streetsblog]
