Lyme disease and designer mice

One of the latest ideas for combating Lyme disease: mice genetically engineered to not be capable of carrying the disease (mice are thought to be a key link the chain of transmission). They only say "new genome-engineering tools" but I'm guessing that refers to CRISPR? We're going to see many similarly interesting trials come from it in the future.
