Swimming

Swimming pool seasons has arrived in the Capital Region. Here's a big list of public pools around the area.

Baseball

Tuesday-Thursday: The Tri-City ValleyCats have a three-game homestand against Williamsport at The Joe. Tuesday-Thursday 7:30 pm -- $5.75 ahead / $7 day of (and up)

Williamstown Theatre Festival

Tuesday: The Williamstown Theatre Festival's new season opens with a production of the Tennessee William comedy The Rose Tattoo, starring Marisa Tomei, in previews on the main stage (it runs through July 17). And on Wednesday The Cost of Living opens on the Nikos Stage in previews (it runs through July 10). various times -- $40 and up

The Naked Magic Show

Wednesday: An act called The Naked Magic Show will be at the Proctors main stage. Stripped-down blurbage: "Left without sleeves or pockets, this saucy and hilarious magic show is baffling and entertaining, bringing a new meaning to 'now you see it.'" There's also a pre-show party. Wednesday 7:30 pm -- $25 and up

Twyla Tharp

Thursday: Famed choreographer Twyla Tharp will be premiering a new work at SPAC as part of performance that includes two other of her works. (It's a Pathways to Dance show.) Thursday 8 pm -- $30

Phish

Friday-Sunday: Phish returns to SPAC. That will mean big crowds at the performance venue, and big crowds around Saratoga Springs this weekend. Friday-Sunday 7:30 pm -- $45 and up

Music

Monday: Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo at The Egg
"A Very Intimate Evening with..." 8 pm -- $59.50 and up

Wednesday: The So So Glos at Troy Rockin' on the River
Punk rock. With: Stellar Young. 5 pm -- free

Wednesday: Shooter Jennings at the Empire State Plaza
Son of Waylon. With: Devon Allman (son of Greg), The Mallett Brothers Band (sons of David). 5 pm -- free

Sunday: The James Taylor show at Tanglewood is sold out.
(But it looks like there are still tickets available for his July 4 show there.)
