Foreclosed, and now available, in Troy

The city of Troy currently has a window open this month for accepting proposals to buy foreclosed properties in the city. It's done this in the past, and this time around, it has an interactive map of the properties. (Though it appears there are some issues with the geocoding of the vacant land parcels.)

You might remember a few years back that Anasha Cummings, would'd later go on to run for city council, put together a similar map as a way of highlight the important of open municipal data.

Took a quick look at the interactive map and the Rensselaer County website that the map entries connect to. Unfortunately, no photos of the properties seem to be available. It's hard to get a quick idea of interest without a visual. Guess one could Google each address to see if there is a photo available on "Street View", but that's laborious. Bummer.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
