Fork in the Road
Friday: The food trucks return to downtown Albany's Tricentennial Park for the last Fork in the Road event of the season. Friday 5-8 pm

Fusion
Friday: The Albany Barn and the Albany Chef's Food and Wine Festival present the annual Fusion "anti-gala." Food from some of the areas best chefs, local craft beverages, art, music and shuttle tours of the Breathing Lights exhibit. Friday 6 pm -- tickets start at $75

Drink Albany
Saturday: The Capital Region Craft Beverage Trail hosts its second Drink Albany celebration at Albany's Quackenbush Square. Sample craft beverages form all of the trail producers. Vendors, food trucks, and more. Saturday 2-6 pm (VIP happy hour from noon to 2 pm) -- $20 general admission tickets / $50 VIP tickets

Breathing Lights
Breathing Lights continues this weekend. The public art project is illuminating windows in hundreds of vacant homes in Albany, Schenectady and Troy (the slowly pulsing lights will be active from 6-10 pm each night).

Talking about public art
This Friday there's a public art discussion at Collar Works Gallery with project director Judie Gilmore and a panel of public art experts: Caitlin Butler from Mural Arts Philadelphia, Jesse Hamerman from NYC's Public Art Fund, and Barbara Schaffer Bacon from Americans for the Arts' Animating Democracy program. Friday 6:30 pm -- free but RSVP is requested

Hockey
Saturday: The Albany Devils take on the St. John's Ice Caps at the TU Center in their first home game of the season. Saturday 5 pm -- $15 and up

Friday-Sunday: The national tour of the Broadway musical An American in Paris kicks off with a week of performances at Proctors. (The show continues through Sunday October 21.) Friday-Sunday various times -- $20 and up

Who Killed Vincent Chin
Friday: The NYS Writers Institute's Classic Film Series is screening Who Killed Vincent Chin -- the 1987 Oscar-winning documentary about a Chinese automotive engineer who was mistaken as Japanese and murdered by a pair of autoworkers who blamed him for the competition from the Japanese auto industry. Zombie Film Festival
Friday-Sunday: The Madison Theater is hosting a zombie film festival, with screenings of six zombie films -- including Night of the Living Dead -- as well as a talk by David Schmid on zombies in modern culture, and a zombie party. Shin Godzilla
The latest Toho Godzilla film -- Shin Godzilla -- is being screened at two theaters in the Capital Region:

Nick Cave Until
Saturday: MASS MoCA opens Until, a new immersive installation by artist Nick Cave. Blurbage: "Through exuberant, politically charged materials, Cave probes issues relating to gun violence, race, and gender inequality. Wrapped in bright glitter, the work is sharp and also painfully beautiful." Saturday's opening reception includes performances by soprano Brenda Wimberly and Sereca Henderson, a singer and organist who has played with Eric Clapton and B.B. King. Saturday opening reception 5:30-7 pm -- $8

Hudson Valley Ruins
Recently opened at the State Museum: Hudson Valley Ruins. It includes more than 80 photographs by Robert Yasinsac and Thomas Rinaldi of "forgotten historic sites and cultural treasures in the Hudson River Valley." It will be on display through the end of 2017.

The Art of Seating
The Albany Institute of History and Art recently opened The Art of Seating: Two Hundred Years of American Design. Blurbage: "The chair is experienced not only as a functional item, but as sculptural in view--the chair as art. Each of the more than forty chairs in the exhibition was chosen for its beauty and historical context with important social, economic, political, and cultural influences." (On display through December 31.)

Alexander Hamilton
The Albany Institute of History and Art exhibit on the life of Alexander Hamilton and his time in Albany continues. Hamilton, who has experienced a resurgence in popularity due to Lin Manuel Miranda's award-winning musical based on his life, married Elizabeth Schuyler at the Schuyler Mansion in Albany and visited the city often after that. The exhibit highlights objects related to Hamilton, including a portrait from the permanent collection of Union College. (On display through December 31.)

A More Perfect Union
The Tang presents: A More Perfect Union -- a new exhibit featuring Mel Ziegler's Multi-Year Project Flag Exchange. The installation includes 50 American flags collected by Ziegler, who traveled the country trading new flags for tattered ones flying at homes and public locations. (Runs through January.) free admission (suggested donations of $2-$5)

Circus
This is the final weekend to catch the Arkell Museum's exhibit of circus-themed art and vintage circus marketing materials.

Stories from the Dirt - International Archaeology Day
Saturday: The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence in Albany celebrates International Archeology Day with a program that includes speakers and opportunities to help unearth and tag historic artifacts Saturday 10 am to 4 pm -- $10

Candlelight Tour of Schuyler House
Saturday: The Schuyler House in Saratoga National Historical Park is hosting candlelight tours of the house. Saturday, 6pm to 9pm -- free admission

Clean Tech Hackathon
Saturday-Sunday: The Tech Valley Center of Gravity hosts a 32-hour hackathon this weekend. "Teams of computer programmers, engineers, inventors, scientists and entrepreneurs will work in teams around the clock to devise clean technology solutions." Friday- Sunday -- free registration.
