The money is no longer present

Remember that plan to build a Marina Abramović Institute in Hudson for "long-duration performance art"? The facility that was going to be designed by an architecture team that included Rem Koolhaas? It's off -- and Abramović isn't giving back the money she raised on Kickstarter for it (backers included Jay-Z). A rep for the artist says the money was spent on design work and a feasibility study. Anyone holding out for this project to become a reality must have been wheeled away in their sleeping cocoon because no one saw this coming!
