Where to take a couples massage class?

massage tables by Flickr user Jason Bagley CC.jpgJessica asks:

My husband has requested a couples massage class for Christmas, but I'm having trouble finding one through the internet. Most searches only point me to Couples Massages, but not Classes. Can anyone on AOA recommend one? One we can do on the weekend is preferable.

We can see the knot to be worked out here, finding a class rather than a massage itself. But maybe some of the places of that offers courses in massage therapy also have classes for couples. (And if not, maybe there's an opportunity for a new class.)

So, got a suggestion for Jessica? Please share! And a sentence or two to go along with suggestion can be helpful.

Massage therapists in New York State must go through a licensing program which consists of a certain number of hours in education as well as "hands on". It might be tough or impossible to find a therapist to teach you a class or two in massage--there's a lot of anatomical knowledge (and coursework) behind what they do; it's so much more than kneading out knots. Treat yourselves to a massage instead!

Balance Massage! They are wonderful!

My husband and I took a couples massage class a few years ago around Valentines Day at Om Shanti Healing Arts. Not sure if it's offered year round but worth an ask.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Very nice redesigns. I hope that area becomes more of a neighborhood rather than what it currently is - still an expressway that happens to have hotels and apartments along it. I'd love to see wide sidewalks and protected bike lanes from Crossgates all the way to Manning.
