Cashless tolling and license plate readers

From an ongoing Journal News look into a bunch of the issues related to the rollout of cashless tolling downstate: The license plate scanning tech being used to support cashless tolling is collecting huge amounts of people's travel data -- and that data is being fed to an intelligence operation run by the Westchester County DA, which then shares data with other agencies.

Andrew Cuomo has said he wants to see cashless tolling on the entire Thruway.
