Bites Camera Action
Monday: The Bites Camera Action outdoor movie series in downtown Albany starts its new series with Invincible. And it has a new location -- the series will be showing movies on the big video screens outside the TU Center. South Pearl will be closed from Beaver to Hudson starting at 6:30 pm. And Youth FX films will be screened at 7 pm. Monday 7:30 pm -- free
Summer in the City: Coco
Tuesday: The Palace's Summer in the City series of free kid-friendly screenings starts up its new season with Coco. Tuesday activities at noon / movie at 1 pm -- free
Yellow Submarine
Tuesday-Wednesday: Proctors is screening the Beatles' Yellow Submarine. Tuesday and Wednesday 7 pm -- $9 / $6 students, seniors, kids
Summer Writers Institute
The NYS Summer Writers Institute continues its schedule of open-to-the-public readings by authors at Skidmore. This week's schedule:

Park Playhouse

Crime Fiction Writing Workshop
Monday: Mystery writer/UAlbany criminal justice professor Frankie Y. Bailey starts up a crime fiction writing workshop at the Albany Public Library for writers of all levels. "This program is designed as a four-part series, but participants who are unable to attend every module are still welcome to sign up." Monday 6 pm -- free (registration required)

Tuesday: The Front Parlor storytelling series is at The Ale House in Troy. This month's theme: "Mistakes" Tuesday 7:30 pm (fixed)
Science on Tap
Tuesday: The Science on Tap series will be at the Albany Pump Station for an interactive presentation about invasive species. "Invasive species are non-native plants, animals, insects and diseases that were introduced into an ecosystem and cause significant harm to our environment, economy or human health. Learn about invasive species in your neighborhood and what YOU can do to help stop the spread!" Tuesday 7 pm -- free
Art for Lunch
Wednesday: There's an "Art for Lunch" tour of the Empire State Plaza's modern art collection, part of an ongoing series this summer. "Every tour will focus on a different selection of artworks and on various themes including: sculptures in nature, women artists in the collection, art you can touch, creating the collection, artists who are World War II veterans, and art as propaganda in the Cold War." Wednesday 12-12:30 pm -- free
