Hello! We are Twill. Zac Halloran, Jackie Lombardo and Jeremy Halloran are the three hearts behind this company. For every Twill Blanket that is purchased, one is given locally to a child in need of extra love and encouragement. Our Twill Blankets are made of the finest 100% organic cotton and are 100% made in the USA. Twill Blankets are supplied from the cotton fields of the south and delivered to the doorstep of people needing love all over the Albany.

Twill was born in the basement of Zac's apartment in Albany after his younger brother was diagnosed with a complex mental health disorder. Our mission is to get warmth and inspiration into the hands of those needing it most. We have seen firsthand how much good a blanket can do. For us and those we are fortunate enough to connect with, Twill is much more than a piece of fabric; it is a support system working tirelessly to make sure we leave Albany better than we found it. 

A description of the proposed project
We work with local nonprofits that connect us with children and families who would benefit from our product and services the most. We call these organizations our "Blanket Buddies". These children and families are either homeless, facing life-threatening illness and/or temporary displacement. Whatever the reason is, they need encouragement to get through the dark days of uncertainty. Our blankets have only been on the market for a short seven months and we will be able to help nearly 700 children receive Twill Blankets by the end of April 2015. However, thousands more need our help! 

How would the grant money help?
We would use the $1,500 to help promote our #helpie campaign. This campaign is original and focuses on raising awareness for children in need. A "helpie" is a self photograph of you helping. Whether it is volunteering at the homeless shelter or bringing baked goods to the local family center, we want to hear about it and so does the community of Albany residents. We would use the money to advertise the campaign through our PR company, Overit Media and generate a promotional video to display through our YouTube channel and social media networks. We want everyone, all over Albany to know that there are amazing people doing good right here.
