Stuff to do this weekend

Pool.jpg

Pool weather! Get some swimming in while you can.

We know this is hard to believe, but it's the weekend, and there's no rain in the forecast--at all. Enjoy it while you can folks. Here are a few things that look like fun to us:

Garage Band Night at APL
Albany Public Library continues its garage band series. Tonight's show features Ashley Pond and Charmboy The show starts at 6 at the Elk St. parking garage, behind the main library branch on Washington Ave. Need a good book for the weekend? Bring your card, the bookmobile guy will be at the show.

Latin Fest
A full day of music, Latin foods and crafts on Saturday in Albany's Washington Park.

Olive-U
Le Marche Vert in Troy is having an Olive and Cheese Fest. Sample and learn about olives, olive oils, olive tapenades and salads. And cheese. Yum. Cheese. Saturday from 10-2.

Impressionist-ic
If you like impressionist art, you may want to check out the The Albany Institute of History and Art this weekend. Their new exhibit, "Impressionist Giverny" opens Saturday. It focuses on American painters in France between1885-1915. If you can't make it this weekend, no worries. It'll be there until January 4th.

Dance, dance, dance
The Crooked Lake House in Averill Park is having a Ballroom, Swing and Latin dance party on Saturday. It's a cool old inn where some of the great big bands played back in the day. There's a free lesson at 7:15. Then it's $10 to dance the rest of the night away.

Toga, Toga
If you can stand the crowds, Saratoga is bound to be hopping for Travers weekend. Grab a spot in the Adelphi courtyard early and sip a fruit daiquiri with fresh cream and a fabulous flower garnish.

Get out!!!
The pools are open, the patios are waiting and you're running out of time to try the Capital Region Ice Cream Tour.

So? What are you up to this weekend?

The Scoop
